I just keep thinking about the miracle of her life, and I have to share my thankfulness for Grace. She is our miracle. We dedicated her life long ago to our Lord, and I just want to praise Him for all that He has done for her and for our family.
Thinking back, we have had the darkest days. Days that will forever be in my memory. The day we found out something was wrong with our precious baby. The days of ultrasound after ultrasound looking at the birth defects. The days of doctors appointments seeing and hearing the words "encephalocele" and "agenesis of the corpus callosum" (words I have come to hate). The days I thought about what I would bury my daughter in. The day we picked out what cemetery we liked best. The days of unknown.
Praise be to our Father for the most glorious day of my life...Grace's birth day! I will never forget the first time I saw her. She was perfectly beautiful. We loved her from the first second of her life more than we thought was possible.
Just to think about when we didn't even know if she would be stillborn. Or if she was born alive, we didn't know if we would have much time with her. We were prepared for the worst. Now we know that she is a fighter and is doing much better than anyone ever expected...she is doing great! We are just thankful beyond words!
Thank you, Lord, for our miracle Grace! Praise be to You for her life. We dedicate her to You.
Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

Grace is a true miracle and blessing to so many people that don't even know her or your family. I have been praying for you and your family since coming across your blog. Also, my aunt goes to church with you and has been updating me. I pray for your strenghth and patience as you endure Grace. God Bless that precious and may you have many cherished memories with her.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a miracle and I'm so thankful it's your miracle. We all prayed for this precious gift and God made it yours!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful baby girl! She is so precious. I wanted to tell you how she has touched my life already. I came across your blog after reading info from julie roberts blog on Grace. I started reading a few weeks before you delivered. I was heartbroken for you and your family. After Magdalena (we go to Noah's church back home) and then very close friends of ours loosing their baby Micah to trisomy 18 and then reading so many blogs on babies lost, I started to think that none were saved. That God used each of these lives in such a profound way but it did not extend their lives here on earth. At my husband and my Bible study a few weeks ago we were talking about miracles. I told them the story of Grace. I told them that when I read her story I prayed God can't you just save one! I told them I did not know if I believed in miracles with these babies or just did not want to connect to families on blogs and then see the pain and grief the parents endure. Our Bible study was the day Grace was born. With a 3 yr old and 7 month twins I had not checked your blog that day, but we prayed for her. Since then I have been so excited to see how great she is doing. God is so good! I called my friend back this week and told her the good news and told her how God had used this precious little child to restore my faith in miracles. God is bigger than all the medical problems in the world and he can heal in ways that are beyond us. Thank you for your family's faithfulness in the God we serve. It is a testimony beyond words. We will continue to pray for Grace and your family as you bring her home!!!
ReplyDeleteOh God Bless you girlfriend!!! Your post really struck a chord with me today. I too had thought about, and even looked at dresses for Gianna if she was stillborn or did not survive long after birth. What an incredibly painful time and I had totally pushed that to the back of my mind - she is so full of life. These little girls sure brought light to a dark place!! Grace is just gorgeous. I'm so happy for you that your homecoming with her will be soon! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a beautiful little miracle! I'm glad she gets to come home soon!
ReplyDeletePraise God!!! Grace is going to have such a powerful testimony one day. Lives should be changed through her. God just wanted to show us that He is still God and He is the same today as He was years ago when so many were healed!!! Just like He healed the blind man and He also brought Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego out of the fiery furnace without being harmed. He performed so many Miracles. Still praying for you. So glad Grace is a fighter!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so so thankful that God worked in your life like He has. We were blessed like you but our story ended with Jesus holding Annika instead of us keeping her here- she had Traisomy 13 with a severe case of holoprescephalie. I'm praising the Lord for His miracle in baby Grace and His miracle in Annika (even thoough our story ended differently). Looking back over my life Annika was my miracle! I would love to come and visit sometime when I can meet Grace. We are living in Madison. Please message me soon! bu
ReplyDeleteThank you for keeping us updated through your blog. We continue to pray for sweet baby Grace as she heals from her surgery. Bless the skilled hands that were used by God during her delicate surgery. How excited you must be to be bringing that gorgeous baby girl home so soon! I pray that these wonderful memories will soon dull the recall of the horrible ones. God bless y'all! (I first read about your blog from a fb post by Kathy Russell Catchot; I'm so glad I did...I would have hated to miss this blessing!)

ReplyDeleteOk...looking at that first picture, I'm assuming you played her one of my sermon CDs. It always gets a big yawn out of her daddy. :-)
